I was the sole designer dedicated to the Communications and Policy teams for my first year at Uber as the company scaled from a handful of markets to a company with global brand recognition. In this role, I worked on Communications- and Policy-led promotions, partnerships, emails, executive communications, and news content, working with a cross-functional team that spanned dozens of countries. I designed many illustrations and infographics for Uber owned channels and press, often on a very tight timeline. This is a small selection of that work.
Designed at Uber, 2014-2015
Role: Concept, Illustration, Art Direction
Uber and MADD have enjoyed a long partnership. In July 2015, Uber asked riders to pledge to take a safe ride home on the 4th of July instead of drinking and driving. I designed an illustration to be animated for the global email and social campaign, working closely with animator Derek Pante to achieve a realistic firework appearance.
Uber teamed up with Goodwill® and other global charities to make donating clothing quick and convenient. I designed a seamless repeat pattern for use in campaign channels and swag.
The promotion was incredibly popular: in a single day across 62 cities globally, 6500+ people donated 450,000+ pounds of items, creating 2,500,000+ hours of job training for Goodwill employees.
Uber partnered with UN Women in March 2015 to announce a plan to onboard 1,000,000 women drivers to the platform by 2020. I established the design direction for all creative, including all-rider and all-driver emails, blog assets, social assets, swag, paid creative, print, and the executive presentation deck for the UN Women event in New York.
